Screen Pinning for Document Completion

Enabling Guided Access or Screen Pinning on your mobile device gives you the power to lock the device's screen, thus preventing the user completing the document from accessing any other apps or functions other than completing a document.

00:00: Hi, this is Nikki from healthy roster today. 00:03: I'm going to walk you through the process of enabling screen pinning or guided access 00:07: for document completion. This feature is helpful. 00:10: When you'd like to lock the screen to a single document thus preventing the end user from 00:14: assessing any other apps or functions without first use a provider on the screen. 00:18: Let's jump in. 00:22: As a note I will be showing you the steps from an iOS device. 00:25: This is guided access. 00:28: Screen pinning is denoted specifically by Android devices. 00:31: The principal actions will remain the same for Android devices. 00:34: However, because functionality and Screen pinning can vary slightly from 00:38: device to device. We do recommend you reference your device manual to set up your 00:42: enable screen pinning. For all users to begin you will 00:46: navigate to the documents tab on the patient's profile. 00:51: From here select the form in question now select complete form. 00:55: This will then populate the form and you are ready to enable your screen 00:59: pinning or guided access. 01:02: Prior to this stage. You should have enabled guided access mode or screen 01:06: pinning on your mobile device. If you have not done so navigate to your device 01:10: settings and enable guided access or screen pinning. 01:14: Here we're viewing the guided access launch to launch this you will triple 01:18: click on the home or side buttons. 01:21: You will then get an alert like you see here stating that guided access has been 01:25: enabled. 01:27: Now that guided access or screen pinning is enabled your patient can 01:32: complete the form as necessary. Please note you will be able to see 01:36: they are unable to navigate anywhere else once they've completed their form. 01:40: They will select submit. 01:43: The patient will then receive a form submission complete message. 01:48: At this point the patient should return the device back to you. 01:51: You will then begin the process of disabling guided access or screen pinning iOS 01:56: devices will require you to Triple. 01:58: Click the home and side button similar to how you launched guided access whereas 02:02: Android devices may require you to touch and hold the recent and back buttons 02:06: at the same time. 02:09: For both devices you will then enter your passcode to disable. 02:15: In iOS you will now select end to end guided access. 02:18: If you are on an Android device you will now select unpin. 02:24: You will then receive confirmation that guided access or screen pinning is completed 02:28: your mobile device. Step-By-Step Tutorial:
  1. Begin on the desired patient document tab
  2. Select the document you wish for them to complete
  3. Select Complete Form
  4. Enable Guided Access/Screen Pinning per your device settings
  5. Hand the device to the patient; they will now complete their document
Note: The document while in screen pinning will be timestamped with the provider user's information. We recommend placing a name and signature on all forms that you will be using guided access/screen pinning for.
  1. Once their document is complete, the patient will hand the device back in it's current locked state
  2. Disable Guided Access/Screen Pinning per your device settings
  3. Enter Passcode
  4. Select End or Unpin to fully exit Guided Access/Screen Pinning
